Prime Minister Julia Gillard’s misogyny speech has traditional and social media in a frenzy.
It’s even made The New Yorker and refers to the University’s 2012 Human Rights and Social Justice lecture, delivered by Dr Anne Summers AO – ‘Her Rights At Work? The Political Persecution of Australia’s First Female Prime Minister’. Read the speech here.
Check out the New Yorker article.
Dr Summer’s lecture, presented at the University on August 31, can be viewed in full on the University YouTube channel. More than 600 University staff, students and community members heard the powerful exposition regarding the persecution of Australia’s first female Prime Minister by politicians and other elements in Australian society.
The lecture transcript, with images and video links, can be accessed on Dr Summers’ website.
