The winner of the University of Newcastle Nutrition and Dietetics team’s inaugural Fast Food Challenge  was the Homemade Burger and wedges. Even though the drive-through burger hit the table 2 minutes and 34 seconds before the healthy version, there was no competition in terms of taste, presentation and cost.

Here are the final Fast Food Challenge results:

Hamburger Meal:                                                                                                            Takeaway: To the table time was 21 minutes and it scored 4.7/15 for taste, texture and presentation. Cost was $6.90 per serve.

BBQ Chicken Pizza:

Takeaway: To the table time was 27 mins and it scored 7/15 for taste, texture and presentation. Cost was $11 per serve.

Healthy: To the table time was 28.36 mins and it scored13.85/15 for taste, texture and presentation. Cost was $4.83 per serve.

Fish and Chips:

                                                         Takeaway: Time to table was 51.42 mins and it scored 4.8/15 for taste, texture and presentation. Cost was $8 per serve.

Healthy: Time to table was 23.11mins and it scored 11.8/15 for taste, texture and presentation. Cost was $2.36 per serve.
