Would you like to see your short film screened on to Watt Street’s buildings?
In celebration of the launch of City Evolutions, budding filmmakers are invited to create a 90 second short film around the theme of the ‘The Evolution of Newcastle’. City Evolutions is a landmark contemporary art project featuring a series of interactive light installations developed by UoN researchers.

The University of Newcastle’s Tom Farrell Institute for the Environment is hosting a forum on Friday 31 May, featuring Allan Jones MBE, the internationally renowned engineer helping Sydney move towards a more sustainable low carbon future.

UoN technology to light up Newcastle

The tale of Newcastle’s oldest street includes convict gangs and bearded ladies pouring beers and these stories, along with those of local filmmakers, will light up the walls of Watt Street when City Evolutions launches next month. The project is a landmark contemporary art project and features a series of light installations using cutting edge interactive technology developed by students at the University of Newcastle.
