We Have seen many in the last 3 years that have started looking for a less stressful lifestyle.

I agree that teacher education fails to sufficently equit its teachers with the skills that are required of the job. Whilst the study of pedagogy is essential the application of it to the requirements of eah individual student fall short of equiping teacher's with a framework to apply to their dynamic classroom. However there is much about teacher education that fails to assist preteahers in classroom competency. I have worked with preservices teachers from a number of universities and noted that they all recognise the insufficent time that they spend within the classroom environment throughout their training. I cannot help but agree with them that more time in the classroom learning to cope with the practicalities of teaching on more of a apprentice like training would assist each pre service teacher dramatically. Beginning teachers struggle with time and resource management, discipline, stress and work life balance, the inadequacies of the budget within their classroom and basic office skills such as data management individualised learning plans and reporting. These are all things touched on within a practicum session but not enough time is allocated to these fundamental survival skills.

I agree with your thought but this is really like a 'chicken and egg conundrum!' Microorganisms are so integral to any organism to an extent that they can regulate and control the behaviour and physiology of the host organism.

I just completed the healthy eating quiz and was surprised that I did so badly. I did not know that variety in vegetables is as important as eating them regularly. I have also been led to believe that we should eat a maximum of 3 fruits a day - not sure how to improve that score, maybe variety again? Being gluten and lactose intolerant has an effect on what I can eat, I'm finding alternatives but it's not easy and they're quite expensive.

Loved the quiz! Cheers

We see a lot of people come through specifically looking for an exit strategy out of FIFO work. Three and one rosters on Barrow Island end up leaving families without a father (or Mother) for nearly three quarters of a year. I often here clients stating that they are missing there children growing up, and those that have been on the mines for long periods having relationships that are quite strained, hence the need for an exit strategy.

Addressing Mental health within the mining industry is long over due!

Just saw 7.30 Report.
What a great project to improve the esteem of these young, important Fathers.
The more pride and confidence young Aboriginal families have, the better the whole future of this country will be.
Good luck and congratulations to all.
